The Art of Using a Brain Dropbox for Weekly Planning in Direct Selling

The Power of the Brain Dropbox in Direct Selling

The brain dropbox is not just a planning tool; it’s a game-changer for direct sellers. Before you get involved in one, you need to know how much they can benefit your mindset, productivity and overall success. A brain dropbox becomes your secret weapon in navigating the dynamics of daily tasks, team management, and personal growth. We all know that we can’t do all the things, but doing a brain dropbox can let us know which of those tasks we can let go and which ones truly are the priority.

Setting the Stage for Direct Sellers

If you are a direct sellers like me, you wear multiple hats—lead generators, customer relationship managers, team leaders. But I am also a wife, a mom, the chef, the school bus, and so much more to my family, as I am sure that many of you wear these many hats as well. A brain dropbox becomes tailored to your specific needs. It helps you sort through the noise. It helps you to focus on what really matters. It’s about giving yourself the ability to find the activities that align with your goals and values.

The Weekly Brain Dump Process Unveiled

Okay, now that you know the importance, let’s really dive into how you do a Brain Dropbox. The good things is that there are five steps, the best thing is that they aren’t complicated or overwhelming.

Step #1: Choose a Quiet Time:

Find a quiet and uninterrupted time to sit down for your brain dropbox. This could be at the beginning or end of your day, or at the end/beginning for your week when you can focus without distractions. For me this is normally mornings, or Sundays when the house is quiet, or the kids and family are otherwise occupied in their own activities. This might be done at night before you go to bed. This is one of the best ways that I have found to not have racing thoughts at night before I go to bed.

Step #2: Gather Your Tools:

Step #3: Set a Time Limit:

Step #4: Write Everything Down:

Step #5: Walk Away

Don’t give yourself a chance to dwell on what you wrote. Walk away and come back to your list with fresh eyes and a clear mind. Then determine where to start. The concept of the brain dropbox is simple, the application is where people get stuck. When you take time to walk away and let the dust settle, you did just sweep your mind for cobwebs. I mean have you ever been in a dusty house after you sweep and you are just bombarded with the swirling dust bunnies and particles flying through the air. It’s the same thing. After a deep clean you have to step out of the room for a deep breath. It’s the same thing with your dropbox, clear the mental clutter and come back to it with clear eyes. It is the clarity that will help you really focus on what your CHOOSE to do verses those things that can wait for another time.

Reflect and Refine for Ongoing Success

The journey doesn’t end with the brain dropbox; it continues with regular reflection and refinement. This means that doing this once a month isn’t enough. Doing this weekly probably isn’t enough either, but taking time each day to jog your memory of things you might have forgotten as you are putting together your daily plan and task list will help you to better be aware of priorities that might have slipped under the radar. Once you learn how to do this successfully, you will find that a brain dropbox will become second nature, and the next step will be to go on to organizing your thoughts and start creating the plan.

The art of using a brain dropbox for weekly planning is a practice that will empower you, the direct seller, to take control of YOUR time, goals, and overall success. It’s a journey from chaos to clarity, from overwhelmed to organized. Start by giving this quick five minute process some practice time in your weekly routine and watch the positive impact it can have on your direct selling journey. Happy brain dropboxing and here’s to your continued success!
