Each month, Tula XII releases a new Art of Planning and Journaling Kit for you to use to just have a little extra fun with your planning and journaling. The design behind each kit is for you to have a themed way to do some planning or journaling, whatever style you are more interested in.
Above is a photo of the the very first Art of Planning and Journaling Kit released from Tula XII! These kits are based around one insert, with all of the added options right inside the insert for monthly planning, , routines, trackers, to do lists, monthly wrap up and more. So whether you are a planner or a journaler you will find just what you need inside this insert each month with our Art of Planning and Journaling Kit.
What comes in the Art of Planning and Journaling Kit?
This kit has several different parts and pieces to it, so let’s break it down into insert and extras. Then if you continue to scroll you will get a break down of each of the pages within the Art of Planning and Journaling Insert as well.
The Insert:
The Art of Planning and Journaling inserts come in three sizes, medium, large or XL. At checkout all you have to do is determine which size insert you want. The extras are all the same no matter what size you choose.

The Extras:
Each Art of Planning and Journaling Kit will come with the following items: two sticker sheets, a dated journal card, a stencil, a die cut, and a coaster. Each of the items within the kit will be made to match the insert.

Now that you know what comes in each kit, let’s talk about what is within each of the pages inside the insert each month. The fonts and designs will change from month to month but the layouts will remain the same.

Monthly Planning and Journaling Page
The first full spread inside the insert is a monthly spread. The amazing thing is that although the kits are available on a monthly basis, the calendar is blank and you can set it up any way that you choose. Only two items, a sticker and the journal card, are dated for a specific month, so it is easy to change when you choose to use this kit.
Ideas for how to use the monthly page in the Art of Planning and Journaling Kit:
- monthly goal setting and reflection
- habit tracker
- content planning and brainstorming
- gratitude and positive affirmations
- meal planning and health tracking

- mindset and wellness journaling
- project planning

‘This Month’ and ‘Routine’ Planning and Journaling Page
The second spread in the Art of Planning and Journaling insert is the “this month” and “routine” page. One thing with either planning and/or journaling is taking a look at your monthly goals. One way that you can do that is with a page like this. What is coming up for you, what goals are you wanting to reach and how are you going to get there.
Ideas for how to use the “this month” and routine page in the Art of Planning and Journaling Kit:
- monthly vision board
- monthly priorities
- theme or word of the month to focus on
- important dates and events
- personal focus area

Dot Grid Planning and Journaling Pages
Within the Art of Planning and Journaling insert are four pages of dot grid spreads. I love a good dot grid. It leaves plenty of room for creativies and could be used for either planning or journaling. I have two of these inserts that I use monthly, an XL for my business (planning) and a large for my personal (journaling). Both of them serve a great purpose in my life, and the dot grid pages allow for that flexibility in both my planning and my journaling.
Ideas for how to use the dot grid pages in the Art of Planning and Journaling Kit:
- bullet journaling with weekly spreads or habit trackers
- brain dump and mind mapping

Themed Tracker Planning and Journaling Page
I LOVE a good tracker, and each monthly art of planning and journaling kit will come with a themed tracker page. Trackers are great for all kinds of things. If you would like to read more on how to use an effective tracker check out this article: The Three Sections of the Goals and Habits Tracker Insert from Tula XII
Ideas for how to use the themed tracker page in the Art of Planning and Journaling Kit:
- Goal Acheivement Tracker: record your progress towards goals or celebrating milestones of larger goals you are working on.
- Habit Tracker: record daily habits that align with your goals, drinking water, exercising, reading set, or track new habit formation setting a specific goal to work on monthly.

- Productivity and Time Management: track the number of hours your work, your focused work time, or log your completed daily tasks

- Journaling and Reflection: daily gratitudetracking, did you do it?

To Do List Planning and Journaling Page
A full page dedicated to what you want to accomplish over the course of the month. How many times do we get involved in a big project and then end up with 15 pieces of paper scattered everywhere, with one or two sentences on it, and you end up spending more time tracking them down then actually working on the pproject! Poof done for you. All you have to do is keep all your thoughts and task lists in one insert.

A place for notes and a place to remind yourself of where you currently are in your life, whether it’s personal or business, a monthly check in will help you to see where you are a year from now when you look back on it. Plus you can’t go wrong with a page for a brain dropbox .

Photo Squares Planning and Journaling Page
What can you NOT do with photo squares. I imagine with a journaler adding monthly highlight photos in these squares, but I have also seen this as an opportunity to write a word of the day to focus on, by separating each square into smaller sections.
Ideas for how to use the photo square page in the Art of Planning and Journaling Kit:
- Memory Collage with monthly highlights and event recap
- Vision Board
- Gratitude Collage to showcase what you are grateful for
- Progress Tracker: Instead of a traditional habit tracker use the photos as a visual tracker of the progress you are making
- Mood Board with color inspiration
- Monthly Reflection with images of key moments, feeling or lessons you learned
- Inspiration Board filled with doodles, artwork, quotes or anything else that inspires you.
- Relationship Focus used to document moments with a loved one, family dinners, chats with a friend or date nights.
- Creative Challenges

“Do More” and “Do Less” Planning and Journaling Page
Monthly reflection is definitely great for planning and journaling and that’s exactly what this page is intended for. Spend time relfecting what you could have done more of and less of over the course of the month. Maybe in your goal setting, your habits building process, self-care and time management. The possibilities are endless, but it is up to YOU to sit down and do the reflection.

Wrap Up and Next Month Planning and Journaling Page
Just with the above page in doing some reflection this is the next step in wrapping up your month. What was your favorite memory? What challenges did you face throughout the month? What was a favorite quote you heard or read? And if you are working on savings what does that look like too? The fun thing is that a little washi tape goes a long way, so if those boxes don’t suit your needs than feel free to add what you want to the boxes and fill them in to evaluate how your month went.
Then take some time to prepare for the next month by writing out your goals, upcoming events and fill the boxes with ideas that will get you energized about what you have coming in your future.

The Pen Test Page Month Planning and Journaling Page
The last page in the Art of Planning and Journaling Insert is a Pen Test Page. This is a great way to test out all of the markers, pens, or pencils that you plan to use in your insert. There are several coloring pages and pieces throughout the insert and if you want your colors to be cohesive this is a great way to figure out what will fit with your theme. This is also a page that you can use to test out the stencil shapes of the stencil that comes with the kit.
